At the Australian Information Security Association's National Conference 2012, Oracle Chief Security Officer Mary Ann Davidson said many enterprise application development pros don't pay enough attention to securing their apps. "You have accountability. You're building infrastructure. It's not just cool technology," she chided.

She said that developers need to consider security in the earliest stages of the development process and that they should consider the possibility that customers will use products for applications that are more critical than developers had anticipated.
