Tip: Controlling Exceptions in C# 6.0

Learn an easy way to control exceptions in C#.

advertisement

With C# 6.0, you can control exceptions with a conditional if. See below for an example:

Listing 1. Control Exceptions

try
{
    //Code that creates an exception
}
catch (System.DllNotFoundException dllEx) if (version != 3.0)
{
// Conditional exception
}

In the example, an exception is thrown only if the value of the version variable is not equal to 3.0
