A zip file is a compressed file that can hold one or more files. The following code snippet lets us scan the contents of a given zip file.

Code snippet:

import java.util.zip.*;
import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;

public class UsingZipEntry
{
   public static void main(String args[])
   {
      UsingZipEntry usingZipEntry = new UsingZipEntry();
      usingZipEntry.proceed();
   }

   private void proceed()
   {
      try
      {
         ZipFile zipFile = new ZipFile("Contents.zip");
         Enumeration entries = zipFile.entries();
         while (entries.hasMoreElements()) {
            ZipEntry entry = entries.nextElement();
            System.out.println(entry);
         }
      }catch(IOException ioe)
      {
         System.out.println("IOException: " + ioe);
      }
   }
}

/*

Expected output:

[root@mypc]# java UsingZipEntry
Test.class
Test.java

*/
