Microsoft has begun taken pre-orders for its HoloLens augmented reality (AR) headset, but if you want to place an order, you must be a developer who has received an invitation from Microsoft. The device costs $3,000, and to use it, developers will also need a Windows 10 PC running Visual Studio 2015 and Unity 5.4.
The device will ship with a few apps that are intended to show developers what the device can do and inspire them to create their own apps. It includes 2GB RAM and 64GB of storage but only has 2-3 hours of battery life.
