Google Cloud Dataflow Now in Public Beta

Google has made two announcements related to its cloud-based big data tools. First, its Cloud Dataflow tool is now available as a public beta. Using the Cloud Dataflow SDK, developers can define data-processing jobs that will run in Google’s cloud computing environment. Google released an alpha version of the tool last year, but the new beta version is faster and more cost efficient.

Second, Google has updated its BigQuery cloud analytics tool. Thanks to new features like row-level permission and a higher default ingestion limit, the tool offers improved performance. Geographic data isolation is also now available for European customers who need to ensure that data is stored in certain countries in order to comply with regulations.
