Visual Studio Gets Bing-Powered Code Snippet Search

These days, most developers spend a lot of time searching for pre-written snippets of code that they can use, and Microsoft has just made that process easier by adding a new feature to its Visual Studio IDE. The Bing Code Search add-on allows natural language search of indexed code snippets from Stack Overflow, MSDN, Dotnetperls and CSharp411. When a developer selects a snippet to use, the tool will attempt to modify it so the variables match the existing code and then paste it in.

Microsoft says the tool makes developers 60 percent faster. So far, the Bing Code Search add-on supports only C#, but Microsoft plans to add other programming languages in the future.
