At its Windows 10 event on Wednesday, Microsoft revealed more details about the forthcoming operating system, and it took the wraps off two devices that could be of interest to enterprise users: Surface Hub and HoloLens.
Surface Hub Pro is a full Windows 10 system with a built-in 84-inch 4K display that functions like a virtual whiteboard. The built-in cameras, speakers, mics, sensors and Skype make it ideal for enterprise conference rooms.
HoloLens is a head-mounted wearable that superimposes virtual images into the real world. It could be particularly useful for 3D design, architecture, laboratories, medicine and other fields.
Microsoft also said that it will offer free upgrades to Windows 10 for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. In addition, it will support the operating system for as long as there are devices using it. The company plans to integrate its Cortana digital assistant into all versions of Windows and to offer a new browser, code-named Spartan.
