Most Enterprises Providing Mobile Apps for Employees, Survey Finds

In a survey of 100 enterprise executives, application management and security vendor Apperian found that 70 percent plan to deploy mobile apps to one thousand employees or more, and 33 percent plant to provide mobile apps to five thousand employees or more.

Other key findings related to mobile development from the 2014 Executive Enterprise Mobility Report included the following:

  • 77 percent of those surveyed said security was their top mobility concern.
  • 60 percent of companies that are highly satisfied with their mobile program have a BYOD policy.
  • 31 percent of companies that are highly satisfied with their mobile program have an enterprise app store.
  • Respondents said the primary benefits of mobility are employee satisfaction (60 percent) and competitive advantage (55 percent).
