At its Dell World conference, Dell announced that next year it will begin selling enterprise systems equipped with Red Hat’s version of Open Stack. The offering is designed to aid in setting up private clouds. “We fundamentally believe that OpenStack will be the new data-center fabric of the future,” said Dell’s Radhesh Balakrishnan.
Dell and Red Hat also plan to work together on several projects to improve OpenStack. Those projects include Neutron, a software-defined networking initiative, and Ceilometer, which relates to instrumentation for monitoring and billing.
