Chef Debuts Delivery DevOps Service

IT automation vendor Chef has launched a new DevOps workflow service it calls Chef Delivery. Like other Chef tools, it automates changes to infrastructure, runtime environments and applications, but it also adds continuous delivery, testing and team collaborative development tools. “People have been using Chef for years to automate their infrastructure,” said Chef VP of Marketing Jay Wampold. “But in the last three years or so, we?ve seen more interested in continuous delivery and ? as a result ? a lot of our customers have been building pipelines with Jenkins and Chef.”

Currently Chef Delivery is available to a limited number of organizations by invitation only. The company plans to begin selling subscriptions later this year.
