In the latest version of the Tiobe Index, Google’s Dart became one of the twenty most popular programming languages for the first time. The language, designed as an alternative to JavaScript, is now number 17 on the chart, up from 81 a year ago. Interestingly, JavaScript slipped this month to twelfth place, down from tenth last month.
C was in the number one position on the Tiobe chart again this month, followed by Java, Objective-C, C++ and C#.
The competing PyPL index ranked Java in first, followed by PHP, Python, C# and C++.
