Docker Launches InfraKit for Self-Healing Infrastructure

Docker, the company known for the open source containerization technology with the same name, has launched InfraKit, a new open source toolkit that enables self-healing infrastructure. The toolkit, which was unveiled at LinuxCon Europe, breaks down infrastructure automation into smaller components. “These components work together to actively ensure the infrastructure state matches the user’s specifications. InfraKit emphasizes primitives for building self-healing infrastructure but can also be used passively like conventional tools,” explained a Docker blog post.

The company said that InfraKit arose out of its efforts surrounding Docker use on cloud computing services like AWS and Azure. The tool can monitor cloud environments, detect problems and resolve issues without human intervention.
