Gogo, the service that most major U.S. airlines use to power their in-flight wi-fi, has announced a new API that will help developers create apps to be used during air travel. The goal is to increase the number of apps available to travelers, and thus create more demand for Gogo’s connection services. In the past, Gogo has worked with Virgin and airlines and Glympse to create these kinds of apps.
For now, the API is available only to “registered partners.” The Gogo development platform is powered by Apigee.
