Google has released two new artificial intelligence (AI) tools under open source licenses. The first, SyntaxNet, is a neural network framework for building applications that understand natural language. The second, Parsey McParseface (named in a nod to Boaty McBoatface), is an English language implementation of SyntaxNet. Analysts say that the tools will make it easier to train computer systems to understand human communication.
Several other companies, including IBM, Google and Facebook, have also recently released AI tools for developers. And last year, Google released TensorFlow, a tool for linking computers into neural networks to enable machine learning.
