Google Opens a Cloud Playground for Developers

Google has launched a new cloud computing service for developers that it calls the Cloud Playground. The idea is to give developers a place where they can experiment with their ideas and test them outside of their production servers. The Cloud Playground also provides some sample code and templates.

“On the Google Cloud Platform team we’re always looking for ways to make developers’ lives easier, so you can focus on building interesting applications instead of worrying about managing infrastructure,” blogged Google’s Fred Sauer. “We also want you to be as productive as possible when you’re busy writing code. We provide an SDK which offers access to production APIs, in a way that’s compatible with a local development environment.”

However, for now, the Cloud Playground only supports Python 2.7 App Engine apps.
