IBM and AT&T have announced plans to work together on tools for Internet of Things (IoT) development. The deal will bring together IBM’s Watson IoT platform and Bluemix cloud development services with AT&T’s network services and IoT development tools, including Flow Designer and M2X. In addition, the companies will be incorporating open source tools like Node-RED and the MQTT messaging protocol.
The two firms plan to offer APIs to tie the various IoT services and offerings together, as well an IoT development starter kit.
Several other sets of enterprise vendors have also recently announced IoT partnerships. They include General Electric and Microsoft, and IBM and Cisco.
