IBM Says Its Cloud Computing Business Generated $7 Billion in Revenue for 2014

During IBM’s fourth quarter earnings call, CFO Martin Schroeter said the company grew its cloud computing business by 60 percent to hit $7 billion for the year. However, it’s unclear what exactly the company is including in that number. Schroeter said that IBM’s “as a service” businesses (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) generated $3.5 billion, up from $2.2 billion last year.

He added that the company’s “high value” segments, which includes cloud computing, big data, social media and mobile, generated $25 billion in revenue last year.
