Productivity Gains Are Driving Enterprise Mobile Adoption, Says IBM

A new IBM report called “The ‘Upwardly Mobile’ Enterprise: Setting the Strategic Agenda” examines the mobile strategies at companies in 29 countries. Among survey respondents, 58 percent said that mobility made employees more productive. And 90 percent said they expected to sustain or increase their mobile investments over the next 12 to 18 months.

Through the study, IBM identified companies that it calls “mobile strategy leaders.” Among these companies, 73 percent said they have seen measurable returns on their mobile investments, and 81 percent reported that mobile has fundamentally changed how they do business.”

Despite mobile’s momentum, the survey pointed out some significant remaining challenges, such as integrating mobile apps with existing systems (54 percent), implementing end-to-end mobile security solutions for devices and apps (53 percent) and reacting to changes in technology and mobile devices in a reasonable period of time (51 percent).
