Salesforce Holds TrailheaDX Developer Conference, Unveils App Cloud

In an attempt to reach out to more enterprise application development teams, particularly those involved in mobile development, Salesforce is holding its first ever TrailheaDX developer conference. It made several announcements at the event, including the following:

  • The company is rolling out App Cloud, a new cloud computing service for mobile developers.
  • It is expanding its Trailhead development education program.
  • It is expanding its gamification program with new “Superbadges” for developers.
  • It is launching new developer tools called Lightning LockerService, Lightning Inspector and Lightning Command Line Interface.
  • Salesforce Ventures is creating a Lightning Fund that will invest $50 million in startups building Salesforce apps.
  • It is launching an enterprise cloud startup incubator.

The company also revealed that there are now more than 2.8 million Salesforce developers who have created 5.5 million apps.
