SAP Apps Come to the Azure Cloud

SAP and Microsoft have signed an agreement that has the two enterprise software powerhouses working together in three key ways:

  1. SAP applications will be certified to run on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service.
  2. There will be greater interoperability between SAP and Microsoft applications, including Office and various business intelligence solutions.
  3. SAP will offer more support and development for Microsoft mobile solutions, including Windows and Windows Phone.

“This is an expansion of a partnership we?ve had for over 20 years,” said Microsoft’s Takeshi Numoto. “Together, between our two companies, we serve about 75 percent of the enterprise customers out there. By the end of June, multiple SAP assets will be certified to run on the Azure cloud.”
