SUSE Releases OpenStack Cloud 5

SUSE Releases OpenStack Cloud 5

SUSE’s OpenStack Cloud 5 has reached general availability status. The release supports most of the features in the OpenStack Juno update, including the Sahara big data processing project. Other key features in the release include support for the Midokura MidoNet software-defined networking (SDN) platform and an enhanced installer, but the platform does not yet include Docker integration.

In the past, SUSE has marketed previous versions of this product under the name “SUSE Cloud.” For this release, it added “OpenStack” to the name to emphasize its ties to the OpenStack open source cloud computing project.
