Use Find Function of the DAO With Indexed Fields When Working With ODBC Data

Find function is used to locate a particular string in a dynaset or snapshot type recordset using a comparison operator. In general, it is better to create a new query that retrieves the records that is required instead of using Find function in the DAO recordset. This is true especially with ODBC data. On ODBC data, you should use Find only on indexed fields. It is otherwise more efficient to open a new recordset using a SQL statement with an appropriate WHERE clause. Always remember that smaller the set of records you have, the more effective Find will be.
