Updating Multiple frames at Once

If you use frames in your page, it's easy enough to create a link that updates one of them. But what do you do when you need to update two or more frames at the same time?

You can use one of two methods to accomplish this task. One method is to link to a new frameset page using the TARGET="_top" tag, substituting the actual frame name for "_top":

<A LANGUAGE = "VBScript" HREF = "http://www.mysite.com/page1.htm"
TARGET="frame1" onClick = "parent.frame2.location.href
='http://www.mysite.com/page2.htm'">
The HREF and TARGET for "page1" specify the update for one frame, and the script changes the second frame when the user clicks the link. In addition, you can use scripting to change selected frames and to perform other functions from a single click using a second method:

<A HREF="" name="ClickMe">Click me!</A>
<SCRIPT Language = "VBScript">
<!--
SUB ClickMe_OnClick()
parent.frame1.location.href="myImage.gif"
parent.frame2.location.href="page1.htm"
END SUB
-->
</SCRIPT>
