DATABASES and TABLES

Question:
I have a table. When I delete an item, the size of the table won't change. I think the delete command for tables doesn't move up the entries but only changes a flag. How can I move out (reducing my table size) without using temporary tables?

Answer:
If you're using Paradox tables, there are two ways of packing a table: 1) Go into Database Desktop or Paradox for Windows (if you have it) and restructure the table with the "Pack Table" option checked. 2) Look in the BDE32 help file under dbiDoRestructure with the bPack option. This is a low-level call that will pack a Paradox table. If you're using dBase, then dbiPackTable will work. This is not a valid call for SQL tables.
