New Data-Handling Features

Question:
What are the improvements of VB5 to VB4, especially as to how to handle the data, data files, database?

Answer:
Data Files, using features such as Open/Write/Read, are unchanged since VB4. Microsoft is not really concentrating on those features since they run out of steam very quickly.

Visual Basic does come with the Data Access Objects version 3.5 library, which is designed to work with Access 97. These objects are faster and more feature-rich than previous versions. The DAO layer has been improved with new functions to do things like creating tables on the fly and is generally easier to understand.
