FTP

Question:
If I ftp to an AS400, I can run a program on it by typing quote rcmd call . Is it possible for me to do the same thing on Windows NT? I have been able to run a program interactively from an NT server by hitting the Exec button on WS_FTP. This calls the quote retr and the program runs locally on my machine. However, I would like the program to run remotely. Can you offer any suggestions ?

Answer:
First, get a copy of the Windows NT Resource Kit. There are several utilities included on the CD that accompanies the book, including REMOTE.EXE, RCMD.EXE, and RSH. So, you actually have several options, each with their its strengths and weaknesses.
