Maximum URL Length

Is there a maximum URL length? One of my forms has a bunch of text fields on it so I am concerned that it might truncate when I pass the values as parameters.

The maximum length of the URL is largely determined by the browser and Web server your visitors are using. Although some browsers can handle very long URLs, others (like Internet Explorer 3) stumble at anything longer than 1024 characters. However, there should be little reason for you to even approach this limit. If your form has a lot of elements, I strongly recommend that you use the POST form submission method, rather than GET. Your URLs will be more readable and your users will thank you.
