Moving Logs and Databases

Question:
I need to remove a drive from a Microsoft Cluster Server. As a result, I have to move the Message Transfer Agent log files, the Directory service database file, and the Internet Mail Service data files from one drive to another.

What is the correct procedure for this?

Answer:
The easiest way to change the drives that these files are located on is with the Performance Optimizer. When you run that, it prompts you, on the second screen, to specify which drive the various files should reside on. It suggests what it considers to be the optimum configuration, but you can override that by simply typing in different paths as you need to.

As always, it's a good idea to have a known, good backup before you fiddle with the configuration.
