Break Out of Frames

Question:

What is the correct syntax for forcing a page to break out of a frameset that might call it?

Answer:

The way to make sure that your document isn't included in a frameset is to compare your window to the topmost window in the window hierarchy. If the window.top property points back to the window itself, then the current document is already at the top of the window hierarchy. In this case, you don't need to do anything. Otherwise, just set the location property of the window pointed to by window.top to that of the current window. This will remove any documents that frame the current one and reset the browser's main window to your document.
