Determining Who Has Opened a Shared Folder

Ever forgot to un-share a folder that you shared with a colleague or friend? Ever forgotten the path of a folder that you shared? Want to know who has opened your shared folder? There is a command to help you in such situations.
  • To list all your shared folders, open the Run menu and type your IP address:
     \\ ###.##.##.###
  • Open the Command Prompt and type Openfiles. This will list all the shared files that are open currently. If you don't know the local path of the shared folder, you can type shared.
  • Open the shared folder through the run menu:
     \\ ###.##.##.### \shared
  • Through the Openfiles command, find the local path and remove it.
