Removing an Unused Window Service

Removing an unused Window service involves removing your registry key.
  1. Go to Start—>Run—>regedit.
  2. Find the key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services

  3. Locate the service name you want to remove.
  4. Press <del> key to remove the entire folder.
  5. Restart the machine.
  6. Check Start—>Run—&Gtservices.msc.
The unused service name will not be there.

Note: Modifying your registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system.
