Provide Alternate Text for Images in FrontPage 98

The drag and drop convenience of Microsoft FrontPage 98 makes you more efficient but leaves some unprofessional touches to Web pages. For instance, when you drop an image into the FrontPage editor, the program inserts alternate text for the IMG tag. Unfortunately, the default ALT text consists only of the image filename and file size as shown here:

<p><img src="banner.jpg" width="521" height="176"
alt="banner.jpg (36189 bytes)"></p>
Newer browsers display the ALT text as a type of tooltip when the user passes the mouse over the image. Rather than leaving the useless and unsightly default text, make sure you write text for the ALT attribute with the same care that you apply to the rest of your page.
