Using the Small Tag in HTML5

The <small> element tag was formerly used to create subheadings, such as a logo.

Now, the <small> element has been redefined, more suitably, and now indicates small print. It is useful as a copyright statement in the footer of your site; according to the new HTML5 definition of this element, the <small> tag would be the correct wrapper for this information.
