This is the first in a short series of articles describing Visual Basic components from the RefTools add-in. Although RefTools was developed to add capabilities to Excel, it contains many pieces of code that are useful in a broader context. This first article makes a general comparison of binary search, hashing and two kinds of ternary search tree as look-up strategies.
