Always run a component using Full-Compile

When testing a component in the IDE, always perform a full compilation. This ensures that VB checks the syntax of all the code in the component, which in turn guarantees that no syntax error will break the program while it is serving another application.

You can activate the full compilation option in two ways:

  • By unselecting the "Compile on Demand" checkbox in the General tab of the Tool-Options dialog box, or
  • By running the program in the ide with the Run - Start with Full Compile menu command or, more likely, with its Ctrl-F5 shortcut key.
