Retrieving special system paths

The GetFolderPath method of the Environment class lets you retrieve the path of several important system directories. For example, here's how you determine the path of the Desktop directory for the current user:

Console.WriteLine(Environment.GetFolderPath _
    (Environment.SpecialFolder.DesktopDirectory))
' displays C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop
Here's a list of other useful constants you can pass to the GetFolderPath method:

Environment.SpecialFolder.StartMenu
    ' => C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu
Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData
    ' => C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data
Environment.SpecialFolder.CommonApplicationData
    ' => C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINNT\Application Data
Environment.SpecialFolder.LocalApplicationData
    ' => C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data
Environment.SpecialFolder.Recent
    ' => C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Recent
