Continuity Releases Open Source Tool for Big Data Management

Continuity has released a big data management tool called Loom under an open source license. Loom provides an interface and API for deploying and maintaining scale-out clusters in cloud computing environments.

Loom could be a potentially valuable tool in enterprises that take a devops approach because it makes it so easy for developers and data scientists to deploy and manage the hardware they need for big data applications. It will compete with Apache Mesos, another open source project that performs a similar function and that is in use at Twitter and Airbnb.
