Report: 68% of Enterprises Sometimes Compromise Security to Speed App Delivery

A new report from CA Technologies titled “The Security Imperative: Driving Business Growth in the App Economy” includes some disturbing revelations about enterprise application development teams’ approaches to security. While 83 percent of IT leaders surveyed said that security is critical to their brand, 68 percent said they “sometimes compromise security to get applications to market faster.”

In addition, the survey found that 82 percent of those surveyed believe identity-centric security is critical for enterprises, and 81 percent agreed that security should be “frictionless” for users. The report noted that advanced users of identity-centric security are pioneering a new approach known as “DevSecOps,” which incorporates security into the development process.
