Two new studies suggest that demand for agile software development skills far exceeds the supply. First, U.S. based staffing firm Yoh IT found 558,198 postings for agile development jobs but only 121,876 qualified candidates. That means agile jobs outpaced talent supply by 4.59 to 1. Demand was highest in Washington, California, Oregon, Minnesota, New York and Massachusetts.
Similarly, U.K.-based CWJobs found that agile job postings in that country climbed from 3,283 in 2010 to 6,441 in 2012.
The studies say that while demand for agile skills has increased dramatically in recent years, developer training has not kept pace.
