HP’s Autonomy group recently launched a set of OnDemand APIs for its Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) engine. IDOL is designed to help developers harness the big data within their networks?particularly the unstructured data?for new purposes.

Last weekend, HP hosted a Hackathon for developers interested in using the IDOL OnDemand APIs. eWeek put together a slideshow of some of the more noteworthy ideas. They included the following:
