AWS Encourages Microservices, Lambda Architecture

At an event in New York City, Amazon Web Services (AWS) CTO Werner Vogels said, “We will never stop” building up Amazon’s cloud computing services. He pointed to recent initiatives designed to promote microservices and Lambda serverless application architecture. The company has released a developer preview of Project Chalice, a Python-based microservices framework, and Project Flourish, which offers templates for serverless applications.

Vogels also unveiled a new AWS service called the Application Load Balancer. It offers features like traffic control, content-based routing, HTTP/2 support and detailed logging.
