As part of the cloud computing demonstrations it held during Dell World 2012, Dell showed off a new platform as a service (PaaS) it calls Project Fast Paas. Part of the Dell Cloud Labs initiative, Fast PaaS is a private cloud built on the open source Cloud Foundry software. It allows developers to set up a cloud environment in just minutes by simply answering a few questions on a form. It also includes features that allow IT operations to monitor applications created and hosted with the solution.
Fast PaaS integrates with Clarity, which offers containers that allow older apps to be moved to Fast PaaS, and Project Sputnik, Dell’s developer-focused Linux laptop.
