Survey: Developer Salaries Rising Again

Developer salaries are rising again after several years of very little growth, according to the annual Dr. Dobb’s salary survey. For 2013, the average developer made $95,000, up from $90,000 in 2012. Software engineer will bring home $105,000, an increase from $101,000 last year.

Of course, where you live has an impact on how much you make. Those in the Pacific region bring home the most—$107,000—while those in the Midwest make the least—$90,000. The size of the employer also affects pay; those with more than $10 billion in revenue pay the best. Gender also plays a role, with female staff and managers earning less than their male counterparts.
