Microsoft used the Mobile World Congress as the opportunity to release a number of statistics related to its Windows Phone platform and to announce a new Dev Center app. The dashboard-like app allows mobile development firms to access key metrics for their Windows Phone 8 apps. It also features a live tile.
According to the company, the Windows Phone Store now includes 130,000 apps, including 15,000 built for Windows Phone 8. App downloads have increased 75 percent since the Windows Phone 8 launch, and paid app revenue has climbed 91 percent. Developers have downloaded the Windows Phone 8 SDK more than 500,000 times.
