Wall Street Firms Seek Developers

According to website eFinancialCareers, IT workers now top the list of job titles in demand among Wall Street firms. More specifically, financial firms are looking to hiring programmers, especially those with C and Java programming skills. Demand is also high for database experts with SQL knowledge and those with big data skills.

Wall Street firms are also hiring large numbers quantitative analysts (a.k.a. “quants”) with development skills. For example, one securities firm has posted openings for “candidates well-versed in matrix-oriented programming languages such as MATLAB, R, Python, or GAUSS, and a working knowledge of Ruby, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), SQL and database programming,” eWeek notes.
