Xamarin Launches Test Cloud

Xamarin Launches Test Cloud

Xamarin has officially launched the production version of Test Cloud, its automated service for testing mobile apps. The cloud computing-based offering allows developers to test their apps on more than one thousand different devices, a feat that is very difficult to match with manual testing processes.

“The state of mobile testing today is primitive,” said Nat Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Xamarin. “Last month we ran a survey that found that nearly 80 percent of mobile developers are relying primarily on manual testing in their attempts to deliver great app experiences. And yet, more than 75 percent told us that the quality of their mobile apps is either ‘very important’ or ‘mission critical.'”

Xamarin integrates with many continuous integration tools, including Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Jenkins and TeamCity. The Basic service begins at $1,000 per month and the most expensive tier of Test Cloud, the Enterprise service, costs $12,000 per month.
