At its Partner Summit 2016, Cisco announced that it is buying cloud orchestration vendor CliQr for $260 million. CliQr’s flagship product is called CloudCenter, and it provides enterprises with a platform for managing the application lifecycle in the cloud.
“Customers today have to manage a massive number of complex and different applications across many clouds,” Rob Salvagno, vice president of corporate development at Cisco, said. “With CliQr, Cisco will be able to help our customers realize the promise of the cloud and easily manage the lifecycle of their applications on any hybrid cloud environment.”
CliQr’s employee’s will become part of Cisco’s Insieme Business Unit, and Cisco plans to integrate CliQr technology into its data center products.
