Open Agile Adoption Promises Smoother Agile Transitions

When enterprises adopt agile software development methodologies, that change is often imposed from the top down. Developers have no choice or buy-in to the transition process, and they often don’t enjoy it.

Proponents of Open Agile Adoption say it’s no surprise that many of these large-scale agile transitions that are imposed on developers fail. After all, they violate some of the core principles of the agile movement, such as the importance of invitation and opt-in, as well as the idea that engagement is essential.

Instead, they say it’s much better to invite developers to try the new techniques as an experiment and invite them to problem-solve ways to improve the agile transition.
