SmartBear has published a report titled ?State of Code Quality 2016: Trends & Insights into Dev Collaboration,? which takes a detailed look at enterprise application development teams’ efforts to improve code quality. It found that two-thirds of those surveyed use code reviews, making it the most popular method for improving code quality. ?Beyond the quality of code, reviews are also viewed as a primary method for improving the ways teams work together, including sharing knowledge across the team, ability to mentor less-experienced developers, and increased collaboration,? the report stated.
The survey also revealed that Git and Subversion are the most common source code version control systems, and JIRA is the most popular bug-tracker.
