In a lengthy special report, eWeek’s Darryl K. Taft examines the current state of enterprise adoption of agile software development. He notes that a recent VersionOne survey found a 15 percent increase in the number of organizations with five or more Agile teams—indicating that enterprises that had dabbled with Agile techniques are now adopting the techniques more widely.
He quotes Microsoft’s Aaron Bjork, who said, “Agile, Scrum and Kanban were all just buzzwords for a time, but not anymore.”
However, he adds, “Despite proven benefits of Agile, barriers to its adoption exist, such as cultural barriers that prevent some teams from accepting the Agile way of life.”
